whaletail, Doelfin, stingray? any experience

Recommended Posts

Looking to add one of these to the yamaha f75 on my 1860 G3 flat bottom to provide lift for a lower planing speed.  Dont want to lose top end speed if possible.

Any one with good or bad experience?

I have one on my 20` Starcraft Superfisherman, does not seem to increase or decrease speed.

It does seem to allow boat to run on plane at a slower speed.   good fishin... possum1

I use one on my small boat. It does loose about 1 or 2 mph on top end. I like it because It lets me adjust the load of the boat with trim, go slower on plane, & get on plane with heavy loads better.

The larger they are the more control you have, but you do loose some top end speed with the larger ones.

moving from a 3-blade to 4-blade prop can have similar results ie slight drop in top end but improved control/better planing at lower rpms.  Just another option to consider.
