    Little humor

A little lady went to buy cat food. She picked up three cans, but was told by the clerk, " Sorry, but we can't sell this to you without proof you have a cat. Too many seniors are buying cat foot to eat. Management wants proof that you are buying this for your cat." The lady went home, brought in her cat and was sold the cat food. The next day, she tried to buy two cans of dog food and was again told she couldn't buy them without proof. The lady went home, brought in her dog and was sold the dog food. One day later, she brought in a box with a hole in the lid and asked the cashier to stick her finger in the hole. The cashier said, "No, you might have a snake in there." The lady assured her that there was nothing in the box that would harm her. The cashier put her finger into the box, quickly pulled it out and exclaimed, "That smells like crap!" The lady replied, "It is. I want to buy two rolls of toilet paper."

    Jon Boat Conversion

I don't know where you are but I'd check with local welding shops for metal. Best bet might a salvage yard. Google welding supply shops in your area. Just had some work done on boat trailer at Baxley's Welding and Fabricating in White Pine. Very good work and reasonable pricing.

    Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas fellow fishing men and women! What's your favorite holiday? Me you ask LOL It's Groundhog Day. 1st hint of spring and costs nothing. Nothing closes for Groundhog Day. Really a good holiday whether the old groundhog sees his shadow or not!

    Boat storage

In a storage facility I'd rather not mention the name of, I had my boat broke into. The storage place place was really nice. Had a password protected gate and a high fence plus it was well maintained. This theft was not their fault at all. The guy that broke in and took my tackle, rods and some other stuff was also a tenant of this place. Just can't be too careful. But it was under a shed and not in a room. Insurance paid but premiums went up, a lot. Merry Christmas!

  16. I've worked with G5 Outdoors for several years. Prime Quest and G5 broadheads. Leaving there now, sort of semi-retiring, Worked in outdoor industry a long time. Difficult to get top quality bows these days under $500. But I would look hard at Diamond--made by bow tech, Quest and PSE. Get a bow from a bowshot if possible. Box stores typically don't offer good service and if you buy a bow at pro shop they offer good customer service. Parker Bows just announced they were going out of business and will not honor their warrantees. Good luck in your search.

    NEW DANDRDGE RAMP

I've worked in the hunting/fishing/marine category of business for several years. Remember very well when Ray Scott, B.A.S.S. fame, advocated for the clean water act and the 1st Bush signed into law. At this time there was much discussion concerning these taxes. I'm getting a bit old and Google has replaced my memory LOL Most folks don't know , nor care I suppose, about these taxes. I'm for people benefiting from taxes and against waste and abuse of tax funds.

    NEW DANDRDGE RAMP

The link below is interesting concerning the Wallop-Breaux amendments of 1984 to the Sport Fish Restoration Program of 1950. https://www.fws.gov/sfbpc/doc/SFBPC-WSFR-75-Article-Wallop-Breaux-Amendments..pdf

    a bit of a upgrade

Bass Pro, GPS Store, Academy and others are having some big sales on electronics. Bought couple Garmin Echo Map 93SV's and combined they were $800 off. Lowrance is changing their mapping service and should be some good deals on left overs. Good time to look for the bow unit you mentioned. Maybe there is a board sponsor to shop.
  20. Wish you much success and would say break a leg but I think you know that's for theater not fishing LOL

    NEW DANDRDGE RAMP

Lot of leased property and access on TVA waterways, including Douglas. Every marina comes to mind as leased and every private ramp/dock pays a fee. A tag is supposed to be on each dock with TVA number. An excise tax is built into every purchase of hunting and fishing gear plus the fee for fishing/hunting license. This is where "free ramps" come from. Stocking programs as well. Nothing new about TVA leasing out property. I'm not a lawyer but it's perfectly legal. Some lakes have very little development and some have a great deal. I do not know laws and regulations but it is what it is. I was told recently by a city official that walking tracks will be built along the water. Also was told widening the launch ramp at Dandridge would be in the future. Guess the wheels of govt. turn slowly. I do not think taxpayers are getting the "shaft". I like the new fishing dock, the new bridge and look forward to the project being complete. Loads of tourism dollars hopefully mean a new restaurant or two. Lots of folks using the new dock. Some folks with mobility issues, some folks that can't afford a boat, old dudes like me tying up to dock and taking my time getting out of water, some couples taking an evening stroll enjoying the lake and all benefit from progress being made. It's nice for our communities. Yes, I do think we pay way to many taxes but I'd rather the money be spent on helping the public enjoy our resources as opposed to sending it overseas or overpaying elected officials. My 2 cents and I'll get off my soap box now LOL
