  3. Today my son and I went to the Duck near Columbia and I caught my first Drum and he caught a skip jack. (I had to ask a friend of ours to identify them for me) Anyway, my son foul hooked "something" and only managed to bring a scale. (He's 18 so his hand is a young man's size) Attached is a picture of the fish scale in his hand. I'm really puzzled/intrigued what this might be. I'm 99% certain it's a scale and I hooked a silver fish later in the day and got a scale about half this size of my own. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk

Hey guys, thanks for the welcome. I've been fishing since I was a kid and have been in TN for about 10 years. My favorite rivers to fish are the Duck and Caney Fork and I live in Murfreesboro. Even though I've been fishing for many years, I almost always bank fish and use worms corn, plugs (of various sizes), rooster tails and panther martins. (Grew up next to a stocked trout creek in Western NC) so I'm a complete newb with anything outside the above. Primarily joined to discuss fishing the area rivers - what lures/baits work "best", tips/suggestions - that sort of thing. Love spending time with a hook in the water.
